Excellent cast, dreadful dialogue, ludicrous plot. (As soon as I saw the dog on the plane I knew it was doomed…)

Only watched this because Daniel Keyes was credited as the author. The ‘twist’ becomes obvious fairly soon and I found the supporting actors more interesting the two leads. The story could have been reduced by at least two episodes losing nothing and gaining much needed pace. A pot boiler.

Excellent. Funny, charming but keeps one foot in reality. Highly recommended.

Nearly turned off after the arrival of the detective - too crude, too obnoxious and too obvious. But other reviews persuaded me to hang in there and I’m glad I did. The magic does eventually happen but Deadloch lost a star for misjudging its first few episodes. Otherwise excellent.

Beautifully crafted piece of rose-tinted television which never threatens the romance by mentioning anything so vulgar as money. Tears shed? Job done! (Actually The Tears Shed isn't a bad name for the programme... No disrespect to the professionals involved, whose skills are wonderful, but it's hardly a realistic response to reduce, reuse, recycle.
