Clint Eastwood is a master storyteller who has obviously made more entertaining and more action-packed dramatic emotionally driven blockbusters.
Richard Jewell is a big story with many moving parts and the release of the film has to be at the right moment to compel its audience.
More than ever the release date and time chosen inversely affected the audience more than the film. The movie covers the all-important mantra justice for an innocent man wrongly accused. It's a film about truth, politics, the depiction of motive vs circumstances and its concern with what we can learn from history in judging someone before the facts are fleshed out corroborated by the appropriate authorities. A very compelling film about Richard’s journey.
