The story story starts off well and I became engrossed with the two main characters, Claudine and Heather, neighbours for over twenty years and very close friends. I won't go into detail and spoil it for others but there is tragedy in many forms as the story unfolds. Unfortunately, the realism morphs into events that are, quite honestly, so farfetched they're laughable and for me spoilt an otherwise good book. If you don't mind veering from realism into fantasy you'll probably award it 5 stars.
