This movie would be good as a movie, except that it’s 13 the musical. They cut out so many songs from the original broadway musical and added 3 brand new songs. They also kind of changed the entire story. Lucy is not supposed to have character development and apologize. She is supposed to be a jerk and date Brett again at the end. Speaking of Brett, they changed his entire character. He’s supposed to be a mean popular football player. Instead they made him a nice guy who just wanted to date Kendra. (And kiss her) I know they want to make a good movie for tweens. But honestly they should’ve gone for the PG-13 rating and kept all the original songs and character traits in. The good parts of this movie is the diversity of the cast, and the talent of the kids. They all seem like good actors and performers so that’s great. Overall this movie gets a 2 out of 5 for changing the original story and everything about 13 the musical.
