I don't like to read books about history that I have lived through, but Kristen Hannah knocked this one out of the park. I was a teenager during the Vietnam war and remember seeing body counts every night on the CBS News. I am also a retired critical care nurse so I do understand the camaraderie and craziness in very critical medical situations. It made me feel young and sad and I cried and couldn't put the book down. I loved this book. I did go see the Vietnam memorial in Washington, DC and also the Vietnam women's memorial. I actually donated money to the creation of the women's memorial. It was worth every penny.
