I love a surprise. My movie-heart glass is full with this one.
I am pretty darn picky when it comes to movies. I hardly have time to watch them so my standards are high.
Everyone’s taste is their own but I like a very well-acted, well written, non-blockbuster movie; one that is thought provoking,……unique is always nice as well. History has taught me to steer clear of a Nick Cage flick but this one seemed different. It was.
So many moments will get you.
Min 53:05 “We don’t get a lot of things to really care about.”
Heart skip.
The movie has many themes and long after it’s done you will still be making connections you hadn’t noticed in the moment. To me the main message is about letting go and the distractions we put in our own way because we don’t want to.
His character represents so many and so much. The viewer can identify with multiple strong themes. Another beautiful layer.
I might just push play again and watch it twice in a row.
Enjoy everyone.
Spoiler alert:
The last diner scene is amazing. Robin finally realizes (through his journey to find his pig), that no matter how hard he tries to hide from accepting his wife’s death, she will still be gone.
Not everything is wrapped up nicely, many components leave you wanting more,…but I love that. We don’t always get neat and tidy explanations about why and how. We realize while we hopefully wait for pieces of story-line dessert,……we are already satisfied.
