It's genuinely a very entertaining movie that doesn't need to be perfectly written to tell a fun story.

This show is dull at best. It way overreaches with its material and under delivers with its budget. It felt like it was trying to tell a story like Invincible with the live action of The Boys but The Boys is intentionally conservative with its power use because that stuff is expensive and can look fake really easily and Invincible is able to do more power based stuff because it’s animated. They try to do something in between and it looks goofy. The prosthetics are also garbage, they look super fake, and it’s all because they want to tell a story both in the present and in the past with some actors. It’s also got some weird and shady messaging. It’s like if someone tried to make The Boys for their conservative, religious grandmother.
