Too predictable. As soon as the movie opened with the unmistakable view of the iconic map "The Skeld," I knew from the beginning that something was off about Red.
The movie opens with several astronomers set to explore the far corners of the universe, and preparing for the events that may play out. (SPOILER ALERTS from here down.)
They soon blast off into space, with a slight miscalculation when the engine firing up and the flames melting the antennae, cutting off communications to earth.
This was not realized until the later parts of the movie. In my opinion this was a little inconvenient and kind of a reoccurring theme in most space movies, but I ignored it and kept watching. My honest opinion on the casting of Will Ferrell as the radio man made me a little disappointed, since all his work trying to communicate with the astronomers was all in vain, since the antennae was melted.
