I first noticed Clive Owen in the over the top and in your face film noir movie “Sin City” and I’ve been hooked on his acting ever since. There are times when beginning episodes in a series seem slow. Mostly because the plot is thin and the dialogue is more so. However, Monsieur Spade has a slow and methodical march to its climax, giving the series a sense of foreboding resolution. There’s an ever present undercurrent of expectation imbedded in Spade’s dark mood, standoffish demeanor and carefully worded sentences voiced in his relaxed tone. Somewhere, in all this, something is lurking. What exactly, who knows! So l’m hanging around to find out.
