Dark Side of the moon is probably my favourite album, one that takes you on a musical journey of highs and lows through to a euphoric Eclipse at the end. Roger Waters is no doubt the genius behind it but the magic of the album is the sum of it's parts and this reinterpretation is really one note with every track sounding the same and the stories over the instrumental passages are self indulgent and tedious and really not something you'd want to listen to more than a couple of times at most totally destroying the experience of listening to the album as a whole. Ironically the highlight is probably Roger utilising Free Four from Obscured by clouds which fit perfectly into his current situation but are nothing to do with Dark side of course. Having listened to the album 3 times I'm sure I'll listen to it some more to see if it grows on me but all the while I'll be thinking why am I not just listening to the glorious original in 5.1?
