I bought this album without hearing a track at a warehouse sale at Columbia Records in Terre Haute, IN in the spring of '73. I drove home, put it on and played it for probably 3 hours. It's my favorite Santana ALBUM. There are songs on other albums that individually I like better but as a whole concept, this album crushes it. The opening saxophone still gives me chicken skin 47 years later.
Santana and Michael Shrieve get the producing credit and if that's accurate, they were right up there with George Martin, Andy Johns and any other producer you can think off.
