Gracepoint is an American remake of the exceptional U.K.-made Broadchurch TV trilogy. It has the same top-drawer male lead, David Tennent. Somehow it all came out terrible. The key role of the murdered boy's father is played by a guy with the same skill level as a sophomore in a school play, and he was not the only one. Tennent gamely attempts an American accent and I can't tell you whether he succeeded, because so much of his speech seemed swallowed, muffled. Overall production values were poor, especially for the sound. I made it only partway thru the first of 10 discs.
