Fantastic thoughtprovoking film. Amazing acting. Music that is beneffing the atmosphere and storyline and at time sends chills down your spine. Like Chris Chameleon in the first scene too. Pure evil personified. Not only is he one of South Africa's best singers but also an excellent world class actor. The Karoo is gloriously beautiful. If you miss this film it will be your loss. It is currently on Netflix.

Every sentence in Part 1 is pure poetry. The atmosphere in each of the 3 parts is distinguishable. Part 2 is one of the most horrifying descriptions of war I have ever read. The senseless of it. The horror of it also spills over in Part 3. It is beautifully written. It is an amazing piece of work.

I found the film totally non-sensible and, if you can call a film that, precocious. Trying so hard to present an off-beat, oh but normal, family. I have not read the book. Maybe the book gets "the message" across, but I am not going to waste my time trying to find that out.
