Gaye Tye

Went to see this latest production of West Side Story last night. WOW !! I didnt expect it to be anything as good as the 1961 original, but I was hooked within the first minute ! The setting, casting, dancing, just everything about this film is amazing. The sets were incredible, a real feel of the era in which the story was set. I loved the far greater inclusion of the Spanish feel of the city, and that Spanish was spoken in the film interspersed with English. It really added a great authenticity. The casting was perfect, couldnt find better actors to play the parts they did. So believable and so moving. And the dancing.........!!! Along with the timless songs we know, the choreography was exceptional. In all, although I left the cinema in tears (how many times have I seen the original and sobbed??) I was very touched by this timeless story and will want to see it again and appreciate it even more. Well done Mr Spielberg, you have done it again !!
