Barbie (2023) is Adorably Savage which is challenging the social stereotypes!
This is one of the best movies I’ve watched. It is a must-watch for everyone. It has everything in it and subtly establishes a similarity between the real world and Barbie Land. The real world is run by patriarchy, which is a well-known fact, but this movie also tries to make people understand the genuine issues of “Ken,” which signifies a very strong message.
The conditions/problems/issues of Ken in Barbie Land denote the reality of women in the real world. In the real world, most women have no job, no money, and no skills other than just being a homemaker. As this movie shows, the worth of Ken is only when Barbie looks at him or gives him importance, which happens in this real world as well!
The worth of women according to society is only when she gets married to a “man,” takes care of him, his family, his children. The woman’s identity is when she takes care of the family; that’s it!
So, it concludes on such an empowering message that neither of the gender should feel left out in both the worlds, be it - The Real world and women being treated as second class citizens or The Barbie land where Kens are treated as secondary to Barbies!
I loved this movie thoroughly! It is indeed a must-watch."
