The only thing this movie accomplished was to make me even more appreciative (if possible) of the magic created by the memorable cast, songs and acting in the original. Julie Andrews (practically perfect in every way) was incredible and as much as I enjoy Emily Blunt, she is no Mary Poppins. The only part I enjoyed was the unexpected cameo by the always amazing Dick Van Dyke. Certainly not the lame story, limp acting and unforgettable songs. I'm sorry Mary Poppins returned and I can only hope she doesn't again. I got home and watched the original. Magic!
