This movie shows the real face of British army being utilised to suppress the citizens of their own country, in this case the Irish. In fact, this shows a clear picture of how armies throughout the world are nowadays trained to treat their own citizens as terrorists. Pakistan and India - past British colonies - have also followed the same pattern of training for their armies, too. Time and time again, both these countries have utilised force to target minorities in their countries in the same way as the British did in their own country and throughout the world. It's no wonder that this movie shows British soldiers targeting Irish men and women indiscriminately for the sole reason of demanding civil rights, jobs and development. The movie shows the excessive use of force, leading to a deterioration of peace. It also shows that how the British government has dealt with issues demanding progressive thinking historically. British bureaucracy has remained notorious for taking hardline approach towards such situations.
