This book is just okay.
I've read other Paolini and this felt a lot like a YA novel that swears and has some adult content. Not a true for adults book.
The first two sections of the book were good but after that the plot was weak and the resolution unsatisfactory. The book should have ended with the second "to sleep in a see of stars" line. Instead it dragged on and our heroine became space God. The idea that the soft blade was something greater than what was hinted at right at the beginning of the book. Then there was no progression of growth until the very end where it suddlenly leveled up a hundredfold.
The characters were one dimensional and nothing seemed to have consequences for our main character, regardless if she succeeded or failed. The world-building exposition for the book (though interesting and well thought out) was delivered poorly through diologe designed to tell you the exposition, not realistic interactions or conversations.
For those who are looking for a good sci-fi book to read, I would recommend this one much further down the list. I would recommend The Expanse, Dune, The Martian, Enders Game, even the Original Hunger Games is more memorable.
For better fantasy, The Malazan Book of the Fallen, The Stormlight Saga, The Kingkiller Chronicle, etc.
