I loved this show! It paid homage to the original with the balance of a little corny moments and big action numbers. I grew up on the original movie and it holds a special place in my heart for sure! However, the series definitely brings me back without it trying to be a replica and speak to a new generation of viewers. It definitely is a slow start show, and that being said the majority of bad reviews I am reading they did not make it past the first two episodes. The shows first few episodes are absolutely world building and character building episodes, so that people who are going into the show blind would not be left behind. My advice to all those who left bad reviews after only seeing the first 2 episodes, is to stick in there!! I have now completed it and I would definitely be excited if they renewed for a second season!
