In 1974 to say this had a stellar cast was an understatement. A great film that should be on everyone's list to see at least once.

A dour, slow and seemingly irrelevant movie that promises much and delivers little. It doesn't explain itself to allow the viewer to buy into the experience and the characters are unexplored leaving the audience perplexed as to why they are bothering with it at all.

Utterly brilliant and captivating in every conceivable way a movie ought to be.

Pitt is superb but it's not enough to save this film from forgetful obscurity. The style copies other's rather than being unique and the slow pace coupled with what turns out to be a hollow and rather pointless story, will have many feeling badly let down. If good visuals and the pace of Solaris are your thing then this is it but if you were hoping for Interstellar meets Gravity, sorry this is neither.
