Absolutely loved the first season and can’t wait for more. It’s disheartening that so many so called “critics” don’t really understand movies and TV shows these days. Was this ever going to be a one for one remake of the original? Of course not and why would we as fans want that? If you want to watch the original then watch the original. What I loved is how they kept the key characters and stories in while filtering out the fluff of the story of the week. That was great for then, but for this story they needed to do something different. I feel like they captured the essence that is Avatar while also giving us something new to watch and enjoy. If you go in to the show realizing that not every single shot will be the same and focus on the story you will find a good imagination of a show we all loved.
