This movie was fine, as a movie to itself. It's not great, but it's fun and has some clever and enjoyable moments untilbyou realize that they left out and out right abandoned a lot of the plot points they set up in the previous film, CoG. Where's Nagini? Where's Tina? Where's Nicolas Flamel? Heck, half the main cast gets sidelined in this film. Credence is a joke whose set-up was the whole point of the previous film only to get stepped on by Dumbledore is 15 seconds. Grindelwald was also not nearly as intimidating as he was in the previous films, don'teven get me started on how nonchalant they brushed aside his makeover to replace Depp. Really sad and disappointing film for the series. Fantastic Beasts deserved better.
