There are 'many' films about Our Lord and Savior; but this contemporary one comes very close to historical accuracy relative to the cultures, buildings, settings, etc. Also it pinpoint key accounts based on Scripture truth...so there is no room for debate. I enjoy where the introduction centers on the viewers to read the Bible for themselves, and not totally base their views explicitly on the film. Why? Because mankind is absorbed with entertainment, but seldom get the real meaning behind what is being viewed. Jesus, and the first Apostles, are 'front and center' in this film which give better understanding of prophecy for us 'today'! There's no playing with the subject in this project -and those who are true Believers can identify with all aspects of Christ teachings. As He said; "Be the truth" in all things. I was once lost many years ago because I allowed society to dictate my blessings. Today, I walk in them because I dared to pick up the Bible (c.1985) to get the spiritual food needed to 'be' who God 'chose' me to be. Hopefully, many of you will do the same, as this series was not meant for those times because those times were recorded for this to be possible. "The Chosen" was meant for a time like this. Master and Commander is a riveting movie that depicts Britain's war with France, but it also embraces the extended history relative to the country's engagement with American forces. I enjoyed viewing the movie and can attest to the accuracy of the settings, although the movie itself was fictional. The ship used was actually the HMS Rose that was built in Connecticut in 1985. The owner contacted me in 2002 to build a model of it being converted into the HMS Surprise, but politics got in the way of that proposal. However, years later I was able to get my works visibly exposed on the internet which include a build of the American privateer model Royal Louis that's epic in detail. These ships assisted the early Continental American navy in The Revolution. Because of the Master and Commander movie, I furthered my research on what a true privateer looked like. As a result, many viewers on social networks are awed at what they are seeing. My glass is raised for the opportunity to have engaged the HMS ROSE -which later became the HMS SURPRISE that was used for the Master and Commander movie. I vote five stars.
