Remember when American Psycho came out and it was one of the best thrillers of its time? Well that is definitely not the case here. The Desperate Hour is an epic failure on all accounts. Naomi Watts spends approximately 94% of the movie running an unimaginable distance through the woods in the complete wrong direction trying to save her kids from a school shooting. But don’t worry, it’s more than just her running in the woods. She is also calling, texting, using voice commands, looking up directions that she ignores, tying up a 911 operator multiple times, interfering with an ongoing police investigation, and falling, a lot. By the time she is able to get to a Lyft that is driven by the original night stalker, she is apparently in the next county over. If you enjoy being frustrated and full of anger, might I suggest just becoming a Jaguars fan. Anything would be better than the pain of sitting through this train wreck of a film.
