This is not bad nor is it redefining. The scares(although predictable) are decent. The movie does a great job as somewhat of an origin story for Annabelle's powers and the ending is a nice reveal. This does set the tone for the series to continue breathing fresh air into the series. Overall on the scare meter is a solid 8. On the entire plot of the movie... About a 6.
Overall.... 7. Enjoy the film!

Sigh. This movie/remake is like finding left over birthday cake in the back of the fridge. Sure, the cake looks like it may still be some good, but it's been there for a while. Against better judgement, curiousity prevails and you decide to eat the cake.....Bad idea. The first bite you remember what the cake used to taste like, so you're excited. But then you quickly remember why it was placed all the way in the back-its just not good anymore.
There was 0 character development and the movie assumed you've already seen the original, so you'll instantly understand what's going on. This leads you to not care about anything of the characters in the movie. While 2019 animations worked marvels, this is basically Jump Scare Semetary. 1.5 stars.

To be honest, we're buying roster updates. They've changed nothing. Think about what they are doing now.... The commentary is the same from 20. Wait until the season starts before buying it so they can run an update, then make it half way presentable.

This movie ISN'T Get Out. So don't go expecting this to be. Expect this to be more of a huge mind #$&+. It's well crafted, but there are many questions that are left unanswered. SEE THE MOVIE!
