I will say this as a totally biased FNAF fan, I loved this movie. And I don’t even care if my opinion is definitely biased, because I can say for sure that this movie was made for FNAF fans. The excitement, energy and the mood around it, fully made me feel like I was ten years old again. Even my parents, who have not had any semblance of the FNAF lore ever, were excited to watch it with me, solely because I was so excited for it.
A lot of people criticize this movie for not going along with the games’ original plot, which is fair if you went in with that expectation. However, if you’ve been a FNAF fan for a long time, you’d understand that the lore has never only been one thing. And I liked the direction the movie went with it! Expanding upon the security guard’s story, rather than just leaving it all to be crammed in backstory of the Anton family. I liked the fact that they emphasized the animatronics are really just children, and what they really want is just another child to play with. I loved loved loved the ending, William Afton in the springlock suit just made it all worth it. Matthew Lillard was an amazing choice as him!
Overall, this movie is definitely worth the watch, especially if you are a devoted FNAF fan. There’s a lot of other parts of the series they have yet to cover, so I’m desperately hoping for any sequels in the future!
