2 stars for decent production values. Otherwise this unoriginal and pointless nonstop trope of bad cliches is one if the worst scripts ever written. No story. No plot. Just hackneyed quips from mindless characters. The boring, generic aliens are more laughable than scary and the only part of the film that felt unexpected and tense was the murder-by-suicide, which is just stepped over.

Interesting story with some good antagonists(in spite of Catherine Keener's complete lack of acting) but not scary in the least with some awful effects and an unconvincing not-too-bright "brilliant" lead character. Engaging but it feels more like a sitcom without any jokes than a horror story. The story starts to feel very drawn out with the same shots of barfing-up kittens as though it were necessary to the plot.

Just the worst pretentious tripe possible. Some violence that you dont care about because the characters arent fleshed out and some really gross sex stuff that feels like filler for a film with no plot.
