Mykenna Milam

I’m a horror fanatic and was very excited to watch this. The first half of the movie was really well written and unique. I felt they did a great job of making the viewer really feel the stress and angst of the family, especially the mother. It almost perfectly encapsulated the anxiety of living in a household that’s barely scraping by, with a parent that’s at the end of their rope. It makes the viewer uncomfortable in a good way. The suspense building was great. The second half was corny, and the ending was a let down. Cliché, overdone theatrics that have been done a million times in every other demon movie. I am not sure why the director took such a great approach for the first half and then decided to turn it into the conjuring at the end. Lame.
