Went into the movie completely blind- did not read any details, even the official movie description. Though, I was expecting a horror movie with jump scares. Disregarding that, I was surprised by the lack of overall horror. It was suspenseful and at times I was “scared” that I was going to be scared, if that makes sense.
Several times through the movie I had the thought of “wait is this where the movie is gonna take place” or “don’t tell me that’s the end”. Overall, lacking in horror- not just because it wasn’t to the expectation of other horror movies. But in my opinion doesn’t quite fit the definition of a horror flick. Characters lack depth, especially the main role, who I’m still confused about her backstory, motivations, and hobbies. (The movie describes her as an artist- a detail that feels as an unnecessary add-on.). The twist at the end was unexpected though. Final word- underwhelming.
