The documentary 13th is incredibly heartbreaking, yet inspiring. It shows the perspective of the gross criminalization of African Americans in an interesting but informative matter. I agree with what SuperLillysweet mentions in her review, “I came away from watching it, so moved and also educated about the U.S. prison system in ways so new to me.” I must say that I disagree with Linda F. who, in her review, argues that the documentary blames white people for everything. This is not true as the documentary was not trying to point fingers at who caused racial injustice, but was merely stating facts.
