This is very, very disturbing and I almost couldn’t watch to the end. I’m glad I did as there was some distressing closure. The point I think being is this is what happens to children all the time. The director couldn’t show that so, he made an absurdist horror film about abuse and switched the roles instead. That’s a common dynamic the silence of the victim and the cover up of the witnesses/other parent. It’s a sad story.
