This film is very strange. They really did deliver a plot twist, I’ll give them that. Idk how to comment on it without providing spoilers. I’m quite confused about what it was trying to say. The plot twist bit leaves room for ambivalence but honestly if I were someone with heart problems (euphemism cause trying not to spoil it) I think I would be quite offended. There’s a thin line between making fun of mental illness side effects and presenting a ‘Christmas miracle’. Those who have already seen it will know what I mean. However I do wanna say that it’s nice that they briefly commented on immigration and brexit, homelessness and lesbianism. It’s something that a Christmas romcom doesn’t owe us.
