Jordan Crofts

One of the saddest film noirs I've seen. Not sad because of the twists or surface level interactions. It's sad because it tackles an inexplicable part of human behavior. Many parts feel aged but form an intense allegory of one mind. This film has something to say and it'll hit hard.

Fritz Lang's usual disturbing style. Unsettling. If you like M you'll like this one. This film really hurts if you're an artist or into art.

Brutal in a way unlike most film noirs. Somewhat complex structure with unconventionally optimistic characters. Almost no action. Absent detectives. Normal businessmen and an ambitious businesswoman. This film noir demands more attention from its viewers and rewards them with even more bleakness.
