I loved it. Didn't find it slow at all. Just deliberate in its unfolding the way a real relationship does - without manipulation or gimmicks. Great story. Whole, fascinating characters who communicate authentically - without drama and ratchetness. Loved that Mae (Issa's character) got to discover aspects of her mother that helped her to know who she was as a woman. I loved that her mother chose to pursue her passion instead of settling. If she had, her resentment of him would have choked her to death. Besides, he couldn't go with her because he was the dude Gladys Knight sang about in "Midnight Train to Georgia." Mae's choice at the end was informed by both her parents' decisions. Great job!!!
