This movie knocked me for a six. Don't quite understand the 40% critic ratings.

We watched it as a Punjabi family, braced for a laugh out loud family comedy and we were all very disappointed. Yes, the story and sentiment are relevant and are important in Punjabi culture but in my opinion it could have been done so much better. Very little skill or craftsmanship on display with this movie except for some of the actors who did a good job. In terms of filmmaking it just uses every dramatic cliche in the book. Totally amateur soundtrack and at often a terrible script. Like how hard is it to get a couple of ‘real actors‘ for the non punjabi parts and what’s with the downright weird overdubbed English??! I don’t ever leave bad reviews for movies but I was amazed to see so many delusional 5 stars for this there needed to be some balance.
