I’m old. I’be been playing since the first Diablo. I really, really love this series. Unfortunately, I bought this for PS5, and I want my money back. Movement is broken. Dodging gets you stuck at random times - there are multiple bug reports going back to June on this issue. Quests are broken. Fury of fate has been broken since I don’t know when, but the bug reports go back over a month on the Diablo forums. Tree of whispers is broken. Quests fail to trigger as completed, xp stopped being delivered when you turn in the completed whispers. When mobs die, they are staying flagged as alive on the mini-map and not counted. Dungeons are broken. Nightmare dungeons have a great feature — seriously, I loved this feature — where they would have extra bad stuff happen to make the dungeons more challenging. Well, those things are glitched since patch 1.1 so they happen more often than they should. Or less often. Or non stop. Meanwhile, the “extra perks” don’t happen. No bonus gold drop as flagged, no bonus damage. And that’s if you don’t just get stuck in the map behind some random gap or thing sticking out. The over world map is broken. When you select a location on the map to try and “path” to it, about half the time the line doesn’t connect and it leads you to the wrong side of a wall. I’m not talking about player placed pins, but just selecting the quest markers themselves. And the problem with the walls in the dungeons is nothing compared to the literal holes you could walk into and just clip through the map, or the random bits sticking out of the ground — no, not the spider webs — that you get stuck on. Combat isn’t rewarding. one of the nice things from the 1.1 patch was fixing broken abilities — like the sorcerers channeling spells instantly using all their mana. I’ve been running a necromancer, so the last set of nerfs didn’t really affect my play style so much — but they didn’t fix the glut of garbage items that drop as rewards. I don’t mean because the random attributes are bad, I mean the gems that drop at least two “levels” of (for example, crude and chipped), filling your inventory and chest slots. You can’t skip getting them, because to refine to better gems you need multiple of the ones below that category. Your inventory is tiny, and the storage chest is also tiny. You can only hold 30 pieces of loot, total. Ten of those will be gems. The other 20 things are just garbage to convert to gold when you get back to town. Chat doesn’t work. It’s an always online game, “designed” to allow you to play with others. But you can’t chat with others even on the same system as you. This is from the people who made wow. I honestly just can’t understand this. Everything has gotten worse with patch 1.1, and not the stat changes. The above issues have only gotten more and more frequently observed. Today, July 19th, I tried to play after work. In two hours, every single one of those issues above came up. Stay away, blizzard will break your heart while searching for your wallet. I want my money back.
