My husband and I watched Our Flag Means Death and absolutely loved it. I adore a good romcom, and this is definitely one. I read about Blackbeard as a child, and have always enjoyed everything pirate. A few years ago This American Life did a piece on Stede Bonnet, which was fantastic, so I already knew about him when OFMD premiered. What a romp! There's a wonderful love story, the cinematography is beautiful, the cast of pirates is just the best. They don't speak in ye olde pirate lingo, it's more of a modern vibe. The costumes are amazing, as is the set dec, especially the Pirate ship Revenge. There is also a lot of swordplay, suspense, pyrotechnics, and shenanigans. Someone please find it in your heart to either renew or adopt OFMD for a Season 3. All the fans will thank you forever. THEY MADE US A LOVELY SHOW!
