Never saw the original until last night after I watched the 2024 remake. Loved the 2024 main cast. The musical #s didn't all work, but they were the best part of the movie. Whenever they weren't singing and dancing the film kinda just laid there. Except when the 3 friends were together. They jelled so well. The Black dude was hilarious! Even funnier than the original guy. This is 2 out 4 because it just wasn't very good. They tried, but this works better on stage than on film.

This could been good. But instead we have lazy writing. Yes, yet another hush hush govt human weapons program. Some more people with powers. They are on the run. There are some twists and turns, but none of it is exciting, fresh or innovative, even. It keeps your attention mainly by giving us as much Alice Braga as possible. Ben unfortunately seems tooworn out by JLO to do much here. He looks the part of the cop, but once I realized he didn't co-produce this film I knew something was up, and while he doesn't just go through the motions, he doesn't add anything to it. This isn't "The Town" Ben Affleck. For a cop that is looking for his missing daughter he plays this way too cool for school. Someone like Chiwetel Ejiofor would have been better. Would have brought real manic energy to it. Everyone but Ben and the writers, and the kid (over) doing the soundtrack, do a good job.
