I just saw this incredibly inspirational true tale of an amazing human being, a powerhouse of a woman who overcame serious health issues to lead an order of nuns from Italy to build an 'empire of hope' in turn of the century New York City. I highly recommend this gem of a film, and the fabulous actress who portrayed Francesca Cabrini, Cristiana Dell' Anna

Lucky, cause I used to review movies lol!!! I was initially intrigued by this film in the trailer since it was basically shot in Italy, which is a plus for me!! It was not quite what I was anticipating, as I expected it to be a bit more lighthearted!! Of course it was about warring mafia families and was quite gruesome and bloody, but what I thought was noteworthy was the ironic juxtaposition of the violence throughout against the almost innocent character of Christy Balbano, who thought she was on an Italian romantic adventure!!! Overall, the acting was good, especially Toni Collette, who played Dona Balbano. I would rate this film three stars
