Not for kids. At all!! My 7-year-old daughter who loves Barbie seemed lost for half of the film because of the adult storyline. Which was a total letdown, to say the least. This movie is for women who are devoted to hating men and those that shame traditional women for sticking to gender roles. Where was housewife Barbie? Oh right, she had to be deprogrammed from handing her Ken a beer because that’s so awful. In my opinion, the movie should have been a better version of “ Life Size” with Tyra and Lindsey Lohan. Showcase to young girls how they can do anything but still be respectable, build confidence by dressing up with Barbie and the other Barbie’s, how to be kind, a leader in your community etc. Instead we got a movie that pushed the “men are bad and you don’t need them” narrative to young girls. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR DAUGHTER! She will hate it. Poorly made. Low-hanging fruit, movie edition.
