One of the best indie games I ever played. Effortlessly tells a memorable, emotional story simply with good writing and lovable characters. Shows that you dont really need bombastic action or big budget to stay in the player's mind.

An underrated cult classic. At first glance, it might seem like a Castlevania clone with more violence. However, its gloomy atmosphere, masochistic lore, memorable soundtrack and brilliant level design make it a journey well worth embarking upon. Possibly the tightest of the genre since Symphony of the Night.

An underrated masterpiece. Remedy's best game.

However you look at it, Igarashi-san concocted a masterpiece of the genre and in my opinion, one of the best 2d platformers ever made. The deep and satisfying gameplay design is married to an incredible soundtrack that nearly matches Symphony of the Night. The myriad of details, surprises and secrets further establishes the overwhelming intoxication Igarashi's characteristic, melodramatic fantasy instills in the player. A beautiful triumph.
