7/10. Not bad, not great. Doesn't really live up to the original. Pumba's voice was an excellent casting decision. Timon's was good as well, although I do find his voice grating at some points. All the other casting was just ok. Felt like the actors were just reading the script and not really connecting with the material. They cut a few scenes that were my favorite in the original. But, I guess they were of the opinion that it doesn't matter, it's in the past. Clearly the remake wasn't aching for bacon, squash, or bananas. In my mind, clearly they are baboons, and I am not. (Yeah that was all cut). They made a lot of the songs their own...but I mean they aren't thier's so why change them at all? All in all, good effort. Worth seeing? I mean, I guess, the live animation is pretty impressive. Applause worthy? Not really.
