Today most children's books tend to take on the topic of tackling environmental pollution. I personally feel that no book does this better than 'Up With Trees' by Sri Lankan author, Pushpa Fernando. The book's storyline is both comprehensible for children while remaining true to its objective of providing children an insight to the peril's which mother nature faces. Simple vocabulary along with the unfamiliar cultural aspect of the characters will give the young audience of this book a memorable read. Pushpa Fernando, a degree holder in early childhood education, is an avid lover of nature who wishes to inspire the same passion for environmental conservation within her readers.
