Edit after starting my ng+ run from 3 stars to 4. I judged too harshly:I'm late on this as usual, but I will say from the start, I WANT to give this game 5 stars because it DEFINITELY stepped up its game from Star Wars:Fallen Order. Only because of VERY poorly designed boss fights (optional and main) does it lose its 1 star. I am a die hard Souls-Bourne fan. Love them, beat them all multiple times, even the infamous Midir and before patch Radhan. So when I say I'm familiar with tough bosses I mean it. But nothing aggravated me like this game. There are a couple of encounters that I won't spoil for anyone that were simply not fun and unfair. These two things right here is what Respawn fails at. If they want to cheat off Fromsoftware they are going to need to learn those 2 simple things. Making the fights FUN and making the fights FAIR. In some cases they can falter with ONE aspect as LONG as its made up for by the other. That is what Fromsoftware NAILS. There is also the problem with CUTSCENES during boss fights that kill momentum and make repeated attempts demotivating and burn you out. So I digress, If a boss is unfair like in my opinion Midir well, at least it's FUN! Or maybe the boss isn't fun like let's say Rhadan, well at least its fair. These are just subjective examples.
The combat is too wonky for what they're trying to accomplish and the bosses have too many unblockable attacks. In some cases in very small areas even. Now since I'm done with the negative I will go with the 3 star portion, and it's worth every bit. The scenery is amazing the story is gripping and loot is EVERYWHERE with fun puzzles in between. I absolutely LOVED this game except for the previous mention. I played it out. I played this game so much I didn't sleep for 2 days. It's that good. Don't go into this game expecting sunshine and rainbows as with any Star Wars story there is plenty of joy, love, and betrayal. With a touch, no alot of heart ache. At one point there is a young girl singing a hauntingly beautiful song that will bring tears to your eyes. The ending is well thought out without it ever feeling lazy or rushed.
It definitely leaves the story open to our final installment while satisfyingly closing out this installment. Overall I think anyone will enjoy this game but beware, some of the bosses come cheap but pack an unfair wallop that is surely to turn you off. Don't let it, with some grit and grind you will persevere like in true Jedi fashion.
