One of the most meticulously crafted films I have ever seen. With razor sharp direction and writing from Todd Field, one of Cate Blanchett's career best performances, and a subtly powerful supporting cast helmed by Nina Hoss, Tár is a haunting meditation on the corrupting nature of power shown through the lens of the individual. A riveting fall from grace with an emphasis on Lydia Tar's unraveling psyche and deteriorating relationships, Tár will stick in your head for weeks. Potent, precise, and ultimately perfect, this is a must watch that is best experienced in a theater. If you have access to a showing, as it comes back to theaters leading up to the Oscars, absolutely take advantage of this and go see this masterpiece on the big screen.
