Ope Grey

Was loving the show and the whole vibe until I got to episode 5. The special ops team had an emergency situation to deal with in Lagos, Nigeria and they spent majority of the episode with scenes set in Lagos. As a Nigerian, I must say I felt insulted that that was the best description of Nigeria they could come up with. Even if they couldn’t actually travel down to Nigeria to act out the scenes, surely there were actual Nigerian actors in the US that understood the language very well and how things really were in the country. It’s shabby research and even worse presentation. Makes me cast a doubt on the rest of the scenes played in other countries, if they really represented their cultures properly. I don’t know if it’s mid directing or the director was just acting according to the limitations of the budget, but it was nauseating to witness.
