What an absolutely fantastic sequel to the first movie! Just like the first, it blends comedic moments and dark/serious moments perfectly in a way that doesn't feel forced or out of place, they actually make these jokes and 4th wall breaks work in the middle of a really dark moment, and it's what's impressed me most about these Deadpool movies, there no other film like these and I love 'em for it. This movie also introduces really characters from the comics such as Cable and Domino who were both awesome characters, but noticeably, Josh Brolin's performance as Cable was absolutely perfect, his backstory is tragic, his design is really well done and of course, the action sequences involving him are awesome. Speaking of action, it's great in this movie, fun, exciting bloody, just liek the first, in fact, on action terms, this movie actually was a step up from the first. Wade Wilson's character development in this movie was also really well done, it shows perfectly how he's come from the end of the first movied, what he's learned, how he's grown, how tragedies have impacted him and, surprisingly, this movie can actually be quite emotional towards the end, but through all this, he still manages to be a comedic GOD. I can't talk aboput Wade Wilson by talking, yet again, about Ryan Reynolds' phenomenal performance, he played the character perfectly in the first and he does so yet again in this one, I honestly couldn't see anyone else play this role better, Ryan Reynolds is THE Deadpool.
Despite how I think this movie is also a 5 star film, I do think the first movie is slightly better than this one, just because there are more instances of 4th wall breaking which the second one does less of but, don't get me wrong, it's still an amazing movie. I didn't talk about him when I reviewed the first so I'm going to now because he deserves love, Colossus (played by the amazing Stefan Kapicic) is brilliant, a fun, wholesome and sincere character that I have loved throughout both these movies.
Julian Dennison also plays his character, Russel really well, as this kid who doesn't know how to control his powers, is pushed on from the anger of being abused and tormented, a great performance on his part.
Overall this movie is absolutely fantastic, a satisfying sequel to the first, it builds upon the action, characters, story and amidst all the chaos and the comedy, tell a story and a message of loss, tragedy and family and I think it worked so well.
FUN is this movies' F word ;)
