This is a brilliant exposition of the greatest sutra in Vajrayana Buddhism during this current time, the teaching period of the White Lotus Buddha, the first of the thousand buddhas of this fortunate aeon prophecied by Shakyamuni Buddha, as stated in the Sutra of Great Liberation. With the White Lotus Buddha's time upon us and the encumbant (Shakyamuni) karma buddha's teaching period now in decline, this sutra is the timely and perfect antidote to the challenges of the degenerate age. It teaches the pith formula for liberation at this time, removes all hindrances and bestows good fortune. There is a greater frequency of mystical responses manifesting from recitations of this sutra than others, simply because it is the current key sutra for opening the dharma doors. What I have stated here is not small things. One who is deeply learned would be able to validate it as true, whilst those with a more limited knowledge might still be thinking that Maitreya is the next buddha after Shakyamuni. There are many classifications of Buddhas including the karma buddhas (past, present and future), seven world honoured buddhas, and the thousand buddhas. They're all valid and not at all contradictory, but it requires extensive learning to grasp fully their interactions and groupings. What I'm trying to say, is please don't arbitrarily dismiss it because it is outside what you already know. Vajrayana embodies the concept of timeliness with many practices appearing as terma. Such things are often dismissed by some at first only to find out it was a grave misjudgement later on.

Loved this book! I'd been to Seattle and had the "hand on head" or "mo-ding" blessing of His Holiness Living Buddha Lian Sheng, Grandmaster Sheng-yen Lu but because I was a newbie student at the time, I didn't know what it was all about other than it was some type of blessing. This book teaches how it can be used and actually it's SO useful! There's so many things one can do with this type of heavenly grace being bestowed upon one but without knowing what it is and how to use it, it's just a tap on the head.
