I just feel they could have done a better job to connect the audience with a story and emotions to the great Bob Marley. Personally, I found it hard to stay engaged or interested to the movie. I guess with the love of Bob Marley, my expectations were too high going in. Also, I couldn’t understand half of what they were saying but maybe I’ll watch it again with subtitles when it comes out. I did enjoy the music.

I had given up on going to the theaters for a while because movies now just stink. It took a Japanese movie to give me faith again. Finally, a movie with a good message about dedication, being human, and banding together as one. There’s just so many movies here now that say, you need to be alone and strong. This movie reminds us that we don’t need to do everything alone and we can work together and make sacrifices for the greater good. It woke up all kinds of feelings in me and inspired me to be a better person. Thank you to the makers of this movie!! It was so good the whole audience clapped at the end and some dudes next to me were cursing bc they were shamelessly crying but so was I!!!

A movie and music that reaches in your soul and makes you laugh, cry tears of joy and sadness, and in the end, it will leave you deeply happy. The kind of happiness we need these days. I go back and watch this movie once in a while as it’s one of my favorites especially when I need to be reminded that there is still beauty and laughter in this world. Through the current sea of negative movies and modern glorification of everything that is wrong, this one emerges as the smile we forgot we once with each other. I will always cherish this movie and I wish for many more rare gems like this.

Are all the positive reviews fake? There was so many ads on this movie I thought it was worth the hype. Even the positive reviews seem like ads. Well I’m a sucker that got sold into the marketing lol. The whole movie was cringy. This is not a movie that promotes Barbie’s beautiful brand and history of dolls that moved with the times, but rather it felt like a movie that blames all of women’s problems on Barbie. An exhausting feel bad movie that victimized women but covered it in sparkles - not children friendly. I get this whole women empowerment and “I don’t need a man” message but this theme is getting overplayed in movies and the cheesy delivery here was painful to watch. I also don’t think it belongs in a Barbie movie. What’s wrong with her being in a healthy supportive love relationship with Ken? Why did they have to change that? Honestly this movie was a missed opportunity to promote the brand and they actually ruined Barbie for me. We, as women, get to choose and paint our story like the true Barbie does. We can still be strong as a team with a man. I wish the writers focused on the beauty of being a women rather than complaining and blaming every thing on men. Some poor guy behind us was sighing heavily every few minutes. Then you got the one guy in the back who’s laughing a little too hard at this movie - I needed to be on what he was on. I couldn’t wait for it to be over. Maybe it’s one of those love or hate movies.
