Holy eff. This movie was atrocious.
I cannot be mad at the actors, they did their job's very well. That includes the dog.
It's very unfortunate the same cannot be said about the post production team, directors, or the writers.
I've seen better special effects on snapchat filters. I thought my Netflix app was lagging throughout the firewood scene when Rachel walked in to the house and during the gas station scene when she leaned over to pick up her mom's diary after it "accidentally" fell out of his backpack. What effect was that?! Delete it and never use it again. Please.
It's 2022, please leave the cliche sexual misconduct for the 90s films. Most women would have enough self respect for themselves and their partners to not engage in such behavior. For him to randomly show up at her house unannounced in the middle of the night, after she clearly told him not to, is some stalker creepy behavior that would be 100% frowned upon in real life.
Did the team run out of footage to add when attempting to make us believe the father and son were putting up the Christmas tree for "such a long time"? The slow fade transitions spliced together the same shot from the same angle. The team over at Hallmark would've done way better with this amazing cast.
2 stars because... the doge.
